Dear Parishioners, Alumni, Families and Friends of St. Bridget School:
We hope and pray this letter finds you well. To say this has been an interesting year is an understatement. With the arrival of COVID 19, what we called the “normal way of life” was brought to a halt. This affected life in so many spheres. It certainly affected the way we educate our young people.
We were quickly sent into a remote learning environment without much warning. We are so proud of our faculty, staff, and administration who did not miss a beat. From the very early days of the pandemic in early March to the end of the school year our students continued their learning process. There were meetings taking place throughout the day with students and their various teachers, faculty meetings to learn about different possibilities in educating in this new environment, and even personal online check-ups when they were needed. Our teachers continued to present the necessary material, challenge our students, and monitor their social and emotional growth at the same time. They continued our mission in a very real and concrete way, even online, where we “attend to the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of our students within a safe and nurturing environment based upon the Gospel message of Jesus to ‘love one another as I have loved you.’”
Every year, around this time, we write to you seeking your support for our parish school. The support of individuals, families, and local businesses in the wider community, makes it possible for us to continue our mission of achieving academic excellence while developing disciples for the future. We truly believe that our students enter our school to learn and leave at the end of their time with us to serve others and be great leaders for the future.
As we look to the reopening of our school during this time of pandemic, and the necessary preparations that need to be made to ensure we observe the necessary guidelines and protocols, we recognize we need your help. We ask you to partner with us and to help continue the excellence of a faith based Catholic education offered here even as we face this unprecedented virus.
Your support through our campaign entitled Rooted in Faith, Growing in Character will benefit our students by ensuring that we have the necessary funds in order to make the necessary changes that need to be made to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, our faculty and staff, and our administration. Your support will help us increase the bandwidth in our school, purchase additional sanitizing and disinfecting chemicals to ensure we have enough to perform the necessary cleanings each day, and help to offset additional costs associated with the requirement to increase the amount of air that comes from the outside into our HVAC system thus resulting in increased utility costs, and, of course, the purchase of face shields and other PPE for our faculty and staff.
We invite you to prayerfully consider making a donation. There are many ways you can donate to our mission. You may want to make a personal donation, or consider making a donation in memory or in honor of a loved one. Only you can decide how much to give. Charitable giving is a personal decision. We simply ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us today.
We are asking all members of the community to help us meet the challenges we face today in order to enable us to fulfill our mission and shape the disciples and leaders of the future. We ask you to look into your hearts and see the value of donating to St. Bridget School’s campaign Rooted in Faith, Growing in Character. Your donation, no matter its size, makes a difference for our school family and most especially for our students. Won’t you join us in forming the future leaders of our society?
Please be assured of our grateful prayers for you.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
The Reverend Jeffrey V. Romans, KCHS Nancy E. Testa, Ed.D.
